Music, Dance, and Good Food!

I had a very lovely day yesterday and I ate well too!  I got to dance a bit, just messing around at the dance studio I teach at.  There’s nothing like moving your body, letting something inside of you come out when you are moving.

Then my good friends from the stellar band Free Henry!  performed at Thursday at the Square.  A huge local show on Thursdays in the summer here in Buffalo.  They had an amazing set and I worked at their merchandise booth, which I must admit makes me feel slightly important in such a silly way and I love it.  The weather was chilly and rainy but it was well worth it.

Because the weather was gross, I think I was probably shivering for literally 3 hours.  My muscles were sore!  It took me quite a while to warm-up, I drank tea and hot water with lemon to finally recover!

I have been drinking warm/hot water with lemon every morning and night the past couple days and it really is miraculous how simple yet wonderful this little drink is.  It warms and hydrates you plus it really cleans you out.  I read somewhere that it runs through your digestive system quickly, taking leftover mucus and yuckiness with it.  I can definitely vouch for this!  I usually ‘clean out my system’ every time I sit down with a mug of warm water with lemon.  Try it.  Its brilliant.

Between errands and dancing and merchandise selling I barely had time to eat!  I ate pretty light when I did get a chance to do so and my body feels really nice today.  Not weighed down by anything and pretty clean.  Here’s what I had:

1 cup warm water with lemon

1 cup fresh strawberries

1/2 Banana chocolate caramel almond butter smoothie

1 cup iced green tea (Clarence Center Coffee Co.–so great if You are in the Buffalo Area)

1 large salad with tofu and 1/4 slice of whole grain bread from Globe Market (also worth visiting!)

(I’m not huge on tofu BUT they have the best tofu ever–my once in a while soy has to happen when I’m at Globe)

Leftover Raw Tuna Salad

1 square dark chocolate

Few handfuls popcorn, popped on the stovetop with a little bit of real butter and Himalayan Sea Salt

I just realized that I was seriously lacking in the veggies yesterday, yikes!  More greens today.  I’m actually about to make a smoothie, probably a banana, peach, blueberries and some greens.

Have a good day Punks!
