Big Ass Drink Night…With a Bottle of Water. : )

After writing my post on the atrocities of alcohol and the havoc it can wreak on your body I decided to try not drinking for a while. I really only drink for social reasons, rarely ever get drunk, and have realized that I am sipping away out of habit when I am out.

Last night was my first major trial. There is something called ‘Big Ass Drink Night’ that some of my friends go to on Monday nights after work. I usually opt out, but my insanely awesome friend is also insanely stupid and leaving my life to move away very soon, so time together must be spent, even if it means gay bars until 3 in the morning instead of sleep. At this bar on Monday nights they serve sugary drinks in large mason jars for a very low price. I once went and had half a jar of sex on the beach. This time, however, I asked for a bottle of water. I had fun, felt good, drove home safely, and felt amazing this morning! I found that the water satisfied that need to be sipping something when everyone else is just fine. Truth be told, there is no good reason to drink alcohol. If you can think of one, let me know, but its just silly sometimes.

I understand drinking in moderation is better than drinking excessively, but in that case, what’s the point? Maybe its because I am in my just out of college years, but to me you drink to get a buzz/get drunk. If you are drinking lightly and not getting drunk, why waste the calories and feed your body something that could be detrimental to your health?

Next time you are out try sticking to water, or even soda water with a splash of juice, that’s practically a cocktail!

Later Punks. : P
