Big Appetites

I just wanted to stop by during my crazy hectic life this week to say hello and tell you all that I haven’t forgotten the promises I made for info about my new all natural beauty products and some interesting articles. I want to devote some real time to those posts though, giving you good info, pictures, and my true opinion.

In the meantime, I just wanted to mention how important it is to listen to your body. I have realized lately that I can eat very very little during the day but then suddenly at night I have little to no will power when it comes to walking away from heavy muffins and cinnamon rolls at work. Instead of getting down on myself about having no willpower, I decided that maybe its time to give in to my hunger and cravings before they become a problem. At work the other day I had planned on just making a fruit smoothie, but when it was break time I was starving, and for some reason I was craving crunch and starch. If I was at home I would have made brown rice or a sweet potato but I decided to not be too particular and go for some whole grain bread with my salad instead. I had 2 whole wheat breadsticks and a mega salad. I felt great, and had no desire to eat a muffin while we were closing!

Sometimes you just have to listen to your body, it knows what it needs. I’m sure I could have lived without those breadsticks, but if it means being satiated and not being drawn to even less healthy foods, then I’ll take it!

I’ve also been working out more lately, which I think is giving me a bigger appetite. I have to be careful not to eat more than I am burning so that I don’t waste my extra effort, but if I’m hungry its because my body wants nourishment! Again, listen to your body!!!

Just remember that you don’t have to go to extremes to get healthy and let your body’s messages be your guide to optimal health.
